Facebook launches ‘3D Touch’

The Facebook social networking site has launched a new app that will now allow iPhone 6s users to quickly update
their statuses, as well as take or upload pictures without even entering the Facebook app. “3D Touch” is another gesture you can use with your device for faster access to apps.

When iPhone 6s users long tap on the Facebook app icon on their home screens, they are now given three options: take a photo or video, upload a photo or video, or write a post (status update). With the post option, Facebook users can either update their statuses or check into their location to let freinds know where they are. These features make it easy and fast to perform these three common activities.

The Facebook app may actually add a fourth option soon. These tools are called Quick Actions, and the iPhone 6s allows up to four such actions per application.

Facebook-owned Instagram was among the first to offer “3D Touch” support. WhatsApp, Messenger, Moments, Groups and other popular Facebook applications are yet to support the new interaction.
