how to watch youtube videos that are blocked in your country

YouTube is the major source of online videos and it’s stands first with its billions visitors and trillions views per
day from the far wide of the globe. It is the largest video portal from the search king Google Inc. There are many videos in Youtube which are region-restricted or blocks for specific geographical location i.e. those videos are only available in allowed countries. If you are watching these types of videos from any blocked country for that video then following error message will appear: “The uploader has not made this video available in your country”. or “This video is not available”.

On the other hand if your computer’s IP address falls outside that geographic region, YouTube will display an error saying “This video is not available in your country” – this message has nothing to do with censorship, it’s the owner of the video clip who could be limiting access.

To watch these types of video, you have to fake your location or watch it via any allowed country proxy. And so you can try following methods also.

1. YouTube videos blocked in your country:
  • Suppose If the blocked YouTube URL is  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yDwE36Dk1gk
  • Then just replace  /watch?v=  with  /v/
  • After modifies the YouTube URL, It should look something like this  http://www.youtube.com/v/ yDwE36Dk1gk
  • Point your browser to the above URL, Wow you have played video in the full-screen mode even it is blocked in your country.
2. access YouTube videos blocked in your country using Hola:

Hola is available for all major web browsers including Google chrome and Firefox, but for the best experience I would suggest you to use it with Google chrome.
  • Install the Hola extension on Google chrome from the link provided at the bottom.
  • Once the extension is installed, it would appear as an icon on Chrome’s extension bar.
  • Now when you land on a YouTube video that is blocked in your country. Click on the Hola extension and select from a country flag to view the blocked YouTube video using a proxy server.
  • To Download: Hola for Google Chrome
3. Using Google Translate as proxy:

If the video is allowed in USA then you can watch it using this trick. Follow below steps to watch videos using Google as a proxy:
  • Open https://translate.google.com/
  • Paste the Youtube link in the input text box and select your desirable language.
  • Now click the link generated in the translated box in the right. Enjoy the video.
 4. Proxy sites to view blocked YouTube videos

In case you don’t want to use the Hola extension, here are some free YouTube proxy servers you can use to access blocked videos on YouTube.
