Skype is one of the best software in cross-platform, as it is available for Windows, iOS, Android, the Web, OS X,
Ubuntu and more. It is now working to make it easier for users to start chatting. Now Skype has announced a change to its service that will enable anyone to jump in on a chat without requiring a Skype or Microsoft account.
The Microsoft-owned company is slowly rolling out the ability for users to invite anyone to join a Skype chat by sharing a unique URLs link via email, social media, or messaging services, regardless of whether they have an account. Computer users will be able to click on that link to open a conversation window in Skype for Web. No log-in required.
U.S. and U.K. users can start, share, or join a conversation from the Windows or Mac desktop application and Skype for Web. But the feature of Skype will be expanded to reach the rest of the world over the course of the next couple of weeks. To see if you have the option available, make sure you're running the latest version of the program, and just click "+New" to share a one-time link. The recipient must enter a guest name to join.
Additionally, if you have a Skype name and Skype
downloaded on your mobile, you can join a conversation on Skype for iPhone,
iPad and Android.
As
Skype does well enough for smaller meetings with a few participants who only
need to chat, message, share files or screen share, the option to invite anyone
could boost its usage. And this could be a great option for small business
users too.
